Sergio L. Schmukler is the Research Manager for Macroeconomics and Growth in the Development Research Group at the World Bank. He also manages the World Bank Research and Development Center in Chile and supports the World Bank Malaysia Research Center and Rome Center. His research focuses on international finance and financial markets in emerging and developing economies, and he has published numerous books and academic papers in leading economic and finance journals. He teaches financial development at Columbia University. He is a member of the Money and Finance Research (Mo.Fi.R.) group and a member of the Scientific Council of the Financial Transactions ¡°Big Data¡± Global Research Network (FTGRN).
