Carolina Rendon is the World Bank¡¯s Resident Representative in the Dominican Republic since July 1, 2025.
Previously, she was the Resident Representative of the World Bank in Uruguay based in Montevideo, where she led the dialogue with the representatives from the Government, international community, civil society, and other stakeholders.
Ms. Rendon, a Peruvian national, joined the Bank in 2005. Since then, she has served as a Public Sector Specialist in various regions of the Bank including Latin America, Europe and Central Asia, and Africa. She was Governance focal point for Romania, where she led the dialogue on public sector management, justice sector reform, and digital governance, among others.?
Ms. Rendon was an integral part of the World Bank team that supported the Participatory Anti-Corruption Initiative (IPAC) of the Dominican Republic between 2010 and 2012, an initiative of the Dominican Government to promote citizen participation and transparency in governmental decision-making, as well as to strengthen accountability.
Before joining the World Bank, she was a lawyer for Shell and advisor to the Peruvian Prime Minister of Peru.
Ms. Rend¨®n holds a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, a bachelor¡¯s degree in Humanities and Liberal Arts from the same university, and a Master's in Law (LL.M. in International Business Law) from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, LSE.
