We advance the World Bank鈥檚 jobs agenda through three workstreams. Financing leverages resources to support country strategies, operations, and pilots that prioritize employment outcomes. Data and measurement strengthens the tools and evidence needed to track how policies and projects affect jobs. Partnerships connect governments, donors, the private sector, and youth to co-create solutions and share knowledge.

Together, these streams turn resources into strategies, evidence, and collaborations that help countries create more and better jobs.

We connect governments, donors, the private sector, and youth to co-create solutions and share knowledge.

The Partnerships workstream is facilitating knowledge sharing and promoting innovative solutions to emerging jobs challenges. It operates through two mechanisms:

  1. Creating a learning community that will bring together clients, donor governments, multilateral organizations and decision makers that are working on the jobs agenda. For example, we work in close partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO), to exchange evidence, share innovations, and strengthen global approaches to jobs data and measurement.
  2. Designing and implementing Innovation Challenges, which support diagnoses and solutions to jobs challenges through country-based innovation challenge competitions. We have launched challenges on migration and on jobs after COVID-19, engaging governments, researchers, and civil society to surface innovative ideas, test them in real-world contexts, and scale the most promising approaches.
