During the 2025 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group (WBG), , the Executive Director for Africa Group II (EDS13), Mr. Harold Tavares, joined his colleagues Ms. Nathalie Francken, Executive Director for Belgium; Mr. Vel Gnanendran, Executive Director for the United Kingdom; and Mr. Zarau Kibwe, Executive Director for Africa Group I, to co-host a high-level event focused on Fragility, Conflict, and Violence (FCV).
The event highlighted the importance of a renewed approach to investment in FCV-affected areas, with a particular emphasis on the critical role of job creation and institutional strengthening in promoting stability and long-term development. The discussions explored innovative solutions to address persistent challenges in fragile settings and placed resilience, inclusion, and shared prosperity at the center of collective action.
