On the occasion of the 2025 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG), the Executive Director for Africa Group II (EDS13), Mr. Harold Tavares, convened a high-level meeting with Ms. Amina J. Mohammed, United Nations Deputy Secretary-General; the WBG Governor for Cabo Verde (Chair of the Forum of Small States); and the IMF and WBG Governors for the Central African Republic (Chair and Co-Chair of the African Caucus, respectively), together with the EDS13 Office team.
The meeting, facilitated by Ms. Marl¨¨ne Suzie Nzengou, Alternate Executive Director for the Group, provided an opportunity to discuss shared priorities in preparation for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), to be held in Seville, Spain, from June 30 to July 3, 2025.
Discussions focused on major strategic issues, including debt management, energy access, job creation, and strengthening economic resilience. This meeting underscored the importance of multilateral dialogue and coordination among international institutions to address the development challenges facing Africa Group II member countries.
