IFC is seeking to hire a Firm to collect baseline data; and thereafter endline data which is contingent on IFC's business need and IFC's satisfaction with the deliverables produced in the baseline; from smallholder farmers for GARDEN Project activities in and around Mt. Elgon region in Mbale District of Eastern Uganda. The consulting Firm will be conducting quantitative data collection with coffee smallholder farmers through CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing) and qualitative data collection through In-Depth Interviews (IDI) and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The Client will facilitate connecting farmers to the consulting Firm for the interviews. Key topics to be covered in the data collection include but not limited to ? Household food production and consumption; including a dietary quality questionnaire (DQQ) for women;? Knowledge and use of climate-smart homestead gardening practices;? Access to and utilization of relevant agricultural inputs;? Cropping schemes in the main farm fields;? Use of key nutrition practices;? Gender roles in food production and use of food as well as gender gaps that are relevant to household nutrition; ? Use of available agriculture and nutrition services;? Income and spending;? Cost of healthy diet;? Link between low household food production and children¡¯s participation in farm labor; ? Parameters related to the farmer-Client business relationship; such as farmer loyalty; coffee yields and sales; among others to be defined.
