Xavier Furtado is the World Bank Group Country Manager for Bhutan, representing the World Bank, IFC, and MIGA. Over 15 years with the institution, he has held diverse roles, including as head of office in Sudan, Botswana, and as the Special Envoy to the Southern Africa Development Community. During his career, he has also worked across C?te d¡¯Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Rwanda, Somalia, Pakistan, and the Philippines. Before joining the World Bank Group, Xavier held positions at the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), De La Salle University (Manila), the Asian Institute of Management (AIM), the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) Trade Policy Forum, and the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APFC).
