Gevorg Sargsyan is the World Bank Group Country Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives, overseeing the operations of the World Bank, IFC and MIGA.
An Armenian national, he joined the World Bank in 2000, bringing over two decades of diverse experience to the role. His career at the World Bank includes serving in various capacities, notably as Country Manager for Ukraine and Belarus, Manager of Operations for Southeast Asia, and Global Lead for Clean Energy.
Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr. Sargsyan worked in senior positions at various private and public sector organizations.
He is the author and co-author of a number of publications and papers in the area of clean energy and infrastructure finance. He has an M.S. in applied math, and a Ph.D. (ABD) in economics.
